I've been forced to change my numbers because of my mother and maternal grandmother, and my partner has too.
We'll be moving most likely in the next few months, and I won't be giving out that address to anyone.
It doesn't matter how many times I repeat myself, if there is a 'legitimate' reason for my mother to contact me, she will, regardless of the impact it has on me.
My sister doesn't understand, and thinks it's ok for my mother to contact me even after I've said no.
I'm about 90% certain I don't want her in my life either.
I was feeling like my original post until recently, when they decided to tell me that an item they wanted to pick up was going to be picked up within 3 hours of contact, and my mother was coming.
There was no "we know seeing your mother brings nightmares, is it ok? Or "we know you asked for several days notice so you could cope, but this got sprung on us..."
After me cracking it via text, I said no. I don't care if there's only a small window where my father isn't home so you can grab your shit.
I'm tired of people thinking this is ok, ignoring when they're told it's not, and impacting me.
I don't care if my sister has had to move out of home because of my parents' separation, I care about the fact that the nightmares are coming back, I don't feel safe or in control, and my sex drive is going back into hiding because of my mother's selfish attitude.
Everytime she contacts me, she might as well jump into bed between myself and my partner just before sex and say "hold up, you can't do that, I think I have a legitimate, self condoned reason to interrupt and kill your mood.".
And keep doing that to me.
Her actions basically say;
"Oh, but I'm your mother and I want to be there for you, AND Nikita (let's not forget the real motivator here), so I'm going to contact you about buying things for the baby which you don't need because the clearly laid out reasons and wishes you gave me are trumped by these cute clothes."
This has gone far enough, and I'm past caring about who is the collateral when I withdraw so that I can live.
I guess the bottom line is I've finally learned to quite rightly say;
Tough shit. Not my problem.
No one is going to be allowed to come between me and this relief from all the shit so far.
