Had a dream of being driven into the ocean. These come in different scenarios. Sometimes off a bridge. Sometimes off a cliff. Usually I'm a passenger. Over the years I've moved from the back seat to the front. Usually I am not driving. Always I wake in a full blown panic attack that lasts for hours.

This morning my middle brother and I were in an old truck driving on the English or Welsh coast. Beautiful as we came down a steep hill. There was a futuristic village sitting on the sea. Sustainable. Anyway my brother didn't turn with the road and into the violent waves we went. Instead of panicking and waking up, I took a deep breath as water rushed in. It was freezing. I rolled down the window and swam out pulling my brother with me. We reached the surface and my damn phone rang so no idea. But it's cool I did something constructive instead of panicking. Been having a version of this dream since I was 7 and this is the first time I got out alive

Well done on coming out alive, your dreams sounds like they are trying to open you up to the emotional turmoil of life, water is an emotional element. From what you have said maybe your work on recovery is allowing you to experience these emotions without the overwhelming feeling of being lost underneath it all.
