Proud Papa Moment

Congrats to you and your little girl, Popeye - I can see your heart swelling with pride from here. I remember well the first time my daughter, and now my granddaughter, read a book aloud to me....I had the biggest grin plastered on my face - they had come a long way from just barely managing "mama" and "grammy" just a few short years before.

May she continue to dazzle you with her brilliance - enjoy every minute of it!!!! :D

Thank you all!! It's great to share that moment with you guys. I was just so proud at that moment I had to share it with somebody.

This past weekend while the girls were away I spent my time Making flashcards for her. So she can learn more words and numbers. She just got home about an hour ago and she is playing quietly with her brother with her dolly right now so I won't bother her until later. I guess though it's a good thing I can draw pretty good. At least you can tell what I drew.

I just had another proud Papa moment yesterday. Mikayla had a birthday since the last post so she is 6 now.

Anyway this weekend I spent at my brothers house. Mikayla has been riding her bicycle with training wheels on it since last summer. Well she saw that my niece had learned how to ride a "2 wheeler" and Mikayla became determined to do it as well. She borrowed my nieces smaller bike and she tried and tried for hours. She would ride about 5 feet and then fall over. I swear if it had been me I would not have gotten up after the third fall. She finally rode it a good 30 feet all on her own and when she fell that time she jumped up with this huge smile of triumph on her face and everyone including the neighbor who was watching applauded her for going so far!

The following day which was Sunday my mother stopped by to drop off some stuff for my daughters and while she was there we got to show grandma how well Mikayla can ride. Man this time she jumped on that bike and rode the entire block without stopping. She came back still on her bike and again arrived to a round of applause from everyone.

So it looks like my little girl is all grown up now. She can read and ride a bike already. I keep thinking she should slow down on this growing up stuff but man I wouldn't have these proud Papa moments to share then would I?
