Poll Ptsd Is Brain Damage

Someone I know has PTSD and refers to it as 'brain damage' and I wanted to examine this belief.

What do you think about this statement?

(I have never created a poll before so I hope I am doing this right).

From the research I've read, a part of the brain changes and so far no one has figured out how to change it back. Not sure I would call it damage, but definitely think and react differently than others who do not PTSD do.

Yes, the brain changes, but my understanding is it can be changed back. I think.

I used to believe that, that PTSD was an injury of sorts, but come to find? I was wrong. Unless someone also has a TBI, the brain may be changed / mind may be damaged; but it's not brain damage, not an injury.

Also much is unknown.

But none of it is "damaged" and much can be restored to near normal functionality, or much better functionality.

Also, trauma causes it, PTSD only discribes what's already there caused by trauma.

I selected inaccurate because it is and selected misleading because it is.

Id never call PTSD or even trauma brain damage, unless there is a TBI. I think that might be an ignorant easy explaination or way to understand it.
