Readers thread: what or who are you reading right now?

ONE WINTRY NIGHT by Ruth Bell Graham. It is a children's book about the Christmas story. The illustrations are awesome! I love reading kids books sometimes, because everything is put there simply, right in front of you so you can't help but understand it.

The Pearl Thief Fiona McIntosh Penguin Books 2018

Good book.. a fictional book embedded in some historical facts surrounding the Nazi occupation of Prague, Czechoslovakia.

It involves Mossad spies, a beautiful protagonist and handsome Englishmen. The author is well known for her research and this is clear in this novel but sometimes to the detriment of the pace of the story. Still, she describes things so vividly - it's impossible to imagine a person not relating first hand knowledge of some of the places the story is set in.

Victoria - The Queen Julia Baird (An intimate biography of the woman who changed the world) Harper Collins 2016

I've only just started this book. It's for book club and I've got a month to read it... if it holds my interest that long. It's 499 pages of biography plus around 200 pages of notes & index... feels like I'm back at Uni!

I'm going to try and read this book properly.. I mean really!! Two reasons.. I don't want to seem too out of it at book club bc it's my first month! The other reason is the author is a Australian journalist and I like her other work.

Innocence Dean Koontz HarperCollins Publishers 2013

Another dark and mysterious story delving into the supernatural or in this case subterranean.. I'm still reading it.

Odd Thomas Dean Koontz HarperCollins Publishers 2013

This was a really enjoyable quickly paced and very funny book. I loved some of the to and fro between the protagonist and other characters.. It's got a good supernatural flair that I am learning is Koontz's forte.
Entertaining read and quite a giggle at times. Got to try and get the rest of the series. :)
