I am a royal putz.

Here I am moaning and groaning and moping around because the love of my life doesn't want me in his. And I just found out that a friend's 5 month old daughter died in her sleep last week.

Good God, what is wrong with me that I got so enmeshed in my own.... trivial crap.... when there are true tragedies going on out there!

What a reality check!

Consider me a little less self-centered that I was 10 minutes ago.

Not commenting on anyone else's woes, just mine.

So have dessert. Kiss the ones you love. Enjoy your kids. Get out and do something good. You just don't know what can happen.

Oh, I'm so sorry for your friends loss :( how horrible. You are right, sometimes there are heartaches and then there are those kinds of heartaches that are so painful the whole world feels them. I will say a prayer for your friend and their family!

I know not long after my ex and I split those awful earthquakes happened in Japan...I remember thinking to myself "how dare you sit here feeling sorry for yourself because your boyfriend dumped you when there are true tragedy's happening right now!!".

When it's family, and in my book that includes close friends, tragedy is so painful.
I'm sure your friend will appreciate any little bit of support you can offer.
Life just isn't fair.
You're so right, (when you can) have dessert, kiss the ones you love, enjoy your kids, get out and do something good . You just don't know what can happen.
