Remembrance Day - Veterans Day 2012

Tomorrow in the UK it is Remembrance Day, a day to remember all those soldiers, from where ever in the world, who have died in conflict.

A day to remember those who are still out there fighting for the freedom of other people.

A day to remember those who have been injured while fighting for their country or other peoples countries. injuries that are not always visible.

So please spare a minute to remember those who have either died or been injured, they do it for us and for those who cannot fight themselves.

Amethist tommorow in the US it is Veterens Day very similar to your Remembrance Day. So many have been involved in wars. It is an all volunteer army. Many brave and couragous soldiers and their families have to go through this with them. For all of those who lost their lives and the families grief.

I was hoping to join the Coastguard contingent to the parade in town this year, but I'm on the night watch tonight so I'm not going to be able. Well, technically I could, I just don't think it would be wise. I usually get very emotional at these things and going along having not slept for nearly 24 hours would just be a bad idea.

A shame, really, as I've attended a parade in one uniform or another almost every year since I was 17.

Thanks for posting this thread. I will not forget. My great grandfather survived the first world war, both of them did. If they hadn't I would not be here now. Strange that?!
