Hi All

Does anyone else have bad side effects to Risperidol? I have had ankle swelling and menstrual change!!

I am having bad side effects with this drug. Ankle swelling change in menstrual. Has anyone else had side effects? Any suggestions helpful....

Yes, I took risperidol to replace zyprexa that put 50 gd pounds on me. But I didn't get the mental help and I swelled up all over my body. Now I take Geodon . It's good for my depression and compulsive tendencies and I've been able to lose some weight. I had night sweats with it too. Have to have occasional EKGs on Geodon it can affect the heart rhythm.[DOUBLEPOST=1406494359,1406494147][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh and I was done menopause when I took it, so can't comment on that. All brain meds affect the endocrine system. Many cause unwanted hair growth or changes with stress and sex hormones. It's a benefit/risk decision.

I've been to doctor she has lowered my dosage so back to usual dose and the swelling has gone down. Can't see my psychiatrist til August though. I just wondered if it was a common side effect swelling.
