Bear made an excellent point. PTS results from a trauma and if addressed in therapy soon after can be cured. If not, it can turn into PTSD. My daughter in-law had a gun held to her head during a robbery where she worked. She only went to two session of therapy that her company provided. It wasn't enough to treat her PTS symptoms fully and she now has PTSD. If at all possible get into therapy right away. I'd love to be able to hear that you conquered this because it is possible! :D
