Ian~Sound Wave, Welcome to the forum. Great perspective and yes it can be contagious.

What a wild accent you must have! I wish you success on your journey. Whitney

I love it. We women love accents so much that we all are having fun just imagining yours! You have to love the US - where else would you be such a "rock star" just by speaking? ;)

Ayesha & Whitney - Thanks so much for the warm welcome. When I wake up in the mornings I talk with my deep brogue until my 3rd cup of coffee :p. Then I lower it down when I am working. Sometime I need to have my friends or co-workers to repeat to others: What I just said

haha - Philippa, I live in a small town and their head will spin in a 180 when I start talking. I was given that hat on my pic by my father in-law. He is a rancher, I thought it be a goof to take a pic with it on.

I Can Do This - oh Aye, I love the U.S - It's been kind and made me feel at home. The town I live in right now (not so much lol)

Cheers all

OMG - that is a picture of YOU? What a hottie you are - and with an accent! Your wife is a very lucky girl.
Oh aye, aye! You don't know what the scottish accent does to me. I've had 2 scottish boyfriends and they were both excellent chefs btw. I love food as much as I do accents (and kilts) It's almost at the level of fetish. :D

Aach!

I tried to do an American accent - It's bad lol. All my Jar-head mates here ALWAYS..... mock the way I talk by rolling their R's and saying: Aye, Dinny, cheers etc. All in good fun. Your Scottish ex-BF's were good cooks? Nice. I just hope they never made you try any Scottish meals, they require Pepto-Bismol afterwards lol

Actually I did try haggis with his parents one time..PUKE! I also forced myself to eat blood sausage, which was a staple in their home. Blech. NEVER again. I never thought I'd try either of those things, but apparently love makes you do crazier things than you even thought were possible.

I'm kinda exaggerating about the haggis, as it wasn't as bad as I'd made my mind up that it would be...but it still wasn't that great either.
