Both of my cats are going in for dental work tomorrow. I am scared that something will go wrong. Both of the cats are such a part of the family. My cat helps me with my anxiety at times. With everything else going on in my life, I kept blocking the fact of them going in tomorrow out of my mind. Now that I have realized it's happening tomorrow, I am scared all over again. I won't even get to see them until late tomorrow because I'll be at a funeral. Just hoping they will be okay.

Awe, I'm sure they'll be fine. My dog is old, he had to go for dental work also and he did very well.

Pets are family and I always get nervous when my dog has to have any kind of procedure. Just try not to worry and before you know it they'll be back home, on your lap purring happily.

They should be fine, and healthier long-term because you're taking such good care of them! Maybe you can spend time thinking about what special treats you'll get them as rewards when they're back, and distract yourself from the wait.

Try not to worry although I know it is hard. I have known many cats from 10 years old to 18 years old go in for dentals and all have come out fine. The are normally a bit dribbly afterwards and dopey but with some soft food and care they are back to their old selves pretty quickly.

How old are your cats? If they are over 10 I would ask for bloods before going in just to be sure their kidneys and such are ok. I would also ask that they use fluids as it is not standard during dentals but can help support the kidneys during the anaesthetic.

I really know so many that have been fine. We had one have nearly all his teeth removed. He was a real greedy boy, 14 years old. We gave home soft food for 24 hours then he managed to knock the treat pot off and eat the contents of hard treats so it was pretty clear even having no teeth hadn't slowed him down any!

I don't think cats and dogs feel time passing like humans do. They'll probably be asleep and won't notice you're home a little late. The hardest part will be the bill!!!

My kitties made it out of the dental work. I don't know how much work they had to have done, but the vet called to say they were awake. I can't wait to see them tonight even if they will be groggy and mad. I am glad the vet called me though even though I am not the one picking them up. Thanks everyone for your reassurances.
