Sensitivity To Noise In Public

EarPro Products

These ones. SureFire Ear Protection. $15.

They aren't like regular earplugs that muffle noise... You can still hear everything crystal clear (unless you pop the flange in, then they block everything)... But they cancel out the upper & lower registers (Boom! & Squeal!) and lower the decibel rating.

There are musicians ones (drummers ear plugs), as well, I just happen to like these better as they work better IMO & have 2 options (flange open & flange closed) allowing for customization of the scene.

Last week I drove 20 miles to have a sit down dish supper, at an award winning chippy. I was enjoying the meal, and the background music from the 50s, until two families came in with a total of 7 kids!

They were so badly behaved and the noise they were making was even encouraged by their parents! As every time little Johnny ate a chip, he got a loud cheer!

I couldn't wait to get out of there, it totally spoiled my day, and my meal. Why do parents allow their kids it be noisy like that and run around screaming, I was brought up in a different world, or so it seems?

@Gadgie my daughter acted up once when she was little, at a grocery store. I created a naughty spot right there in front of the canned veggies, and I think she was a bit mortified, as she never did it again. However, I have seen so many kids act up in public, it's because they think they can get away with bad behaviour because their parents won't scold them in front of other people. Some parents even let this behaviour make them leave a good situation (like family dinner outings). Sometimes, kids are just having hyper days. It really depends on the children, the parents, the situation etc. It's a very common thing here to see in the states.

also, I actually have a kenya bag (don't know if you remember those from the 80's, I am old and a nostalgic person lol), but I use that to store all my goodies when I am going to appts and such x

Its ok, i hate the phrase "hijack thread" anyway and i love natural conversation! ;)

kenya bag

I remember them, unfortantly i cant use them, or the ones ive seen as i need two big equal pockets, one thats lockable and one thats accessable.

Its really about using a brinks combination lock to lock up both medication i take throughout the day and the keys to my safe.
