Set Boundaries With Supervisor

During a problem-solving discussion, my supervisor, to assert her point, stepped up to me, placed both of her hands on my shoulders (an aggressive act per bullying tactics) while she ever so sweetly criticized me (passive aggressive, blaming, unaccountable, ad infinitum).

Internally, I was aware of all that I described. Due to being amongst other workers, I maintained a calm demeanor. After the moment shifted, I went to my superivior's office. I told her, accountabiliy, non-threateningly, "When we are at work, in conversation about anything, don't touch me."

My manager support my instruction, to my supervisor.
This my latest step, into creating the environment that I want for myself!

Way to go Change, you did not escalate the situation even in the face of unwanted physical contact, you stayed present and kept your demeanor and handled it directly with your manager's input. Good on you!

I found it scary to read this post, so easy to imagine all sorts of unhappy endings. I'm really glad that it worked out well!

@change - what tools have you used to change the way you deal with situations like this? I cannot seem to set appropriate boundaries, especially with my supervisor. I need basic accommodations like written instructions, updated policies and follow through (which, in my opinion, should be given to EVERYONE at my organization.) I find myself getting very angry with her because she does not follow through on anything and blows me off all of the time. She thinks I'm being aggressive. I think she's incompetent and lazy. Where did you start for changing the way you interact with your supervisors?
