I was reading about oils in the bath water and I had to share that I once put cinnamon oil in some hot water and took a soak....

......but not for long....talk about burned bits! :facepalm::dead:

I tried to rub the oil off with a cloth which just pushes the oil deeper into the layers of skin and man, what a lesson I learned that day.:roflmao:

Anyways I like The Albatross's suggestions @Silver and hope that you are able to find some relief and comfort from the pain

I don't advise oils in a tub - open up the pores and try to get that bath water hot enough to generate a sweat, staying in there as long as you can. Coconut oil and other oils block the pores... that can be good to stop environmental allergens (be a barrier) but it interferes with the body's ability to expel toxins through the skin.
 
Okay... last post (I promise). When having periods of mega lymphatic swelling, I take a hard look at my diet and incorporate in RA (rheumatoid arthritis) cooking techniques and shift over to a ton of anti-inflammatory foods.

RA info sites are really assistive for "people like us" because of it is a reasonably well documented area and dietary stuff is part of their disease management. (done unless you ask me questions Silver)
 
Yeah, I can't do heat (even if I thought it would help) on my upper back, for some reason it gives me panic attacks...
no saunas or hot tubs around here, though a hot bath did help some, so thank you x
My diet is pretty particular anyways to cater to *all the shit* that is wrong with my physically. (I even eat blueberries, yick and I started on the peppermint tea when this first started acting up)
This happens about 4 times a year, as there is no cure for sarcoidosis, but it usually isn't this bad.
I've upped the herbal detox to 4 times a day until the swelling goes down. I am trying to ride this out, I normally don't tend to complain about pain, but this just sucks. I SO appreciate all the guidance guys x
