Sleeping A Lot During The Day, Every Day...

...but not at night.

I must admit that the amount of sleep I'm getting during the night/early hours of the morning has been steadily improving. But it's still far from ideal. I must spend at least 2 hours out of every 5 awake each night.

But what is really bothering me, is an overwhelming need to sleep late into the morning, until about 10 am and then need to go to bed again by about 4pm. During the couple of hours I get in the afternoon I sleep really well, but it's so annoying. I'm 18 not 80! I hate feeling constantly tired and lethargic and just, unable to keep going.

Any thoughts on this?

I sleep a lot when my mind won't quiet...it's my hiding place and a clue that I'm depressed. Luckily, my night meds do their job. I also dread mornings, but have to get up or my body starts to hurt. And, I feel like I need a nap in the afternoon as well. It's hard to tell if I'm tired or depressed sometimes.

Think it's time to give you a hug.

((((hugs))))

You could try the whole "go to sleep at the same time every day thing" and force yourself to fall asleep at that time (don't distract yourself with the computer or T.V or whatever). Do that for a week even if you aren't tired make yourself go to sleep at the same time every night until you see some normal sleep pattern happening again.

Thanks for the hug Jen.

Yeah, tried that already, whilst on holiday and have tried to keep going with it since I got home. Until last night :oops:
