Relationship Small Breakthrough But So Big!

I've finally had an agreement that he will talk to me as he will be at a base nearby. I've mentioned talking about finances so there's no 'us' pressure.

I don't know how this is going to go. He is still in denial in some ways but admits his unhappiness is in his head and I've done nothing wrong. But then he says there's nothing wrong with his head?! Odd but I'm accepting he is deeply confused.

I don't know what I'm going to even say. Do I just let him start talking? Do I have a list of practical things to discuss? He's still blanking alot of people and any responses to them are cold and just 'off'. Hasn't called his mum in 5 weeks. He has called his sister just once. Friends, barely if anything.

Noone recognises this person. I don't know if I will when I see him. He is 10 mins down the road for 1 whole month. It's going to be so hard. So so hard.

Any suggestions how to handle things or ways not to bring things up or if I actually should??

Thanks kabeh. Helps to have someone tell me I'm not crazy sometimes. His family luckily are ever so supportive, and one of his friends who he almost abandoned recently has been a great person to talk with today.

They're opinion is be straight forward. Not beat about the bush. And listen. If he wants to open up he will but that I must make him realise he has responsibilities, a mortgage, two cats, other bills and that he cannot keep running away from me and has to face me at some point to discuss these things as right now I feel like I'm a storage yard!
