So ignorant

In a time when most employers tread carefully around ADA, as many of you already know, mine does not. ? In fact, if they weren't so ignorant of the law and in what they say they are doing is legal, I would be more inclined to let it go. I'm tired of having to "prove" PTSD is a disability

Thank you so very much for your support and advice.

I am a union member, so I am pursuing that avenue first. However, as the union lawyers seem to be mostly motivated by money (this is not a lawsuit. . . ), I'm not getting anywhere. Maybe it's the inevitable EEOC next?

As we all know, it's so discouraging. Especially public-state- organizations that should know better.

If you haven’t already, you could try searching for the ADA technical assistance center in your region. They are a wealth of information on how to handle ignorant folks, great packets of info for employers, and have referrals to area advocacy agencies. They may even have info help when dealing with the union reps too.

Sorry to hear your employer is being crummy.

At one point when I was pissed off at my ex, I amused myself by NOT swearing at him. Which meant I had to dig reeeeeeally deep into my vocabulary (confounded corporolyte of a pestilential pustulance protruding from a disease ridden hyenas shriveled syphilic sapphic phallus ... )

...it vented my anger at the situation, whilst simultaneously distancing myself from it / turned the whole durn thing amusing as blazes.

Just a suggestion, as a way to distract yourself from the Vogon-esque idiocy of your HR dept., until such a time as they manage a craniorectalectomy. ;)

Seriously. These idiots you’re dealing with would drive me mad. Well done, you.

Wait, you’re a teacher?

I’d hate to see how students with disabilities are treated at your school. I’d hope that educational realms would be more educated due to having to adhere to ADA laws for students. But, alas...

I like this!

They are driving me mad. Most times I'm too angry to be creative, but I LOVE this!
