As as carer I thank you for speaking out - It helps us that are on the other side of the proverbial coin. My husband of 20 years is at the same place you are, and I know he is not able to talk to me. - Im ok with this as long as he has someone to talk to because I know it helps.
But as a carer I truly believe that knowledge is gold - I have read books, joined a V.A support group and have found sites such as this to learn more and understand him better. Hearing from others gives me a better understanding and hope.
I will pray for you in your journey where ever it may lead you. Glad you found us.

Your post is an old post, so, maybe some things changes since you wrote this.

I could never understand what you went through. I'm a civilian who experienced war and its different, but I understand what ptsd is, and how it can change your life.

So, if you want to be friends, I can give you my email and you can share your thoughts with me. Feeling ashamed and keeping your feelings inside is not healthy.

I am with you on this 15 years I have given them and you get hurt and they toss you to the side. I am so sick of the bs that you see in the movies they are there to use you and when you can not be used anymore they can not get rid of you fast enough. Need to fill your spot with someone depolyable tough luck if your broken the VA will take care of that is the mentality. I only wish that someday those same guys get to feel what it is like on the other end. My med board is just starting so waiting to see what happens.
