may I ask what is your condition? and what they have you one that is making you have such a nasty shake/? or is the shake due to the condition that you had mentioned?

I have a kidney condition, due to toxin exposure. No one can say for sure what toxins are involved, but as a Nam vet everyone that was there was exposed to agent orange. Or it could be unrelated to that completely. the condition is called membrainous glomeruliopathy, it's a mouthful. Basically the immune system attacks the kidneys, if left unchecked it will destroy them completely. The main meds are cyclosporine, an immuno suppressant and steriods. The cyclosporine is a chemo level drug and they have to closely monitor it's levels in my body. One of the lovely side effects is neuro tremours. It makes it hard for me to do things which require dexterity in my hands and fingers. Hopefully I won't be on this stuff for ever and some or all of my previous 'normal abilities' will return.

JarHed. We all have aches and pains, but that beats the hell out of all. I guess the VA has admitted that there was such a thing as Agent Orange.......... or are they still trying to dodge that bullet.

My doctor tried to help with a claim for it but even he said that it's the kind of thing that can't be proven conclusively. With all the toxins in food, the air, at our jobs, ect. it really is difficult to prove. The VA denied the claim, but I at least get to see a Renal specialist there and my meds, so that alone is a super big help. Without health care in this country you're really screwed. It may be a last resort but health care through the VA, with all the bs involved, is better than nothing. Actually the Doctors, nurses and health care workers are really very good. It's the admin people that suck. Like all things, it could always be worse. I'm sure as it is with many of us, our wounds or other physical conditions exaserbate our PTSD. It's never just one thing, that would be too damn easy.

I'm sorry you are so sick. I hope you don't have to take that med too long. those chemical exposures are nasty. right now the VA wants to test me for gulf war syndrome. I've got almost all of the symptoms of it now. so in a way i may be in the same boat eventually as yourself.
