Hey

So last week I discovered the concept of Soylent. An all in one nutrional meal, which is supposed to be cheap and affordable, and that you could basically live exclusively on. It is designed to give you everything you need, like the slime from the matrix. :D But not disgusting. There are many brands of it, but Soylent was the first, so thats the name of the idea now. That they named it after the famous movie was supposed to be a joke I guess. They guarentee its not made of people. :roflmao:

I found a brand that is made and shipped in Europe, and tried it out for a few days, and am absolutely in LOVE with it. Nutrilent is the name of the brand I tried and will stick with. Its delicious and filling and easy to make.

I had lots of issue with eating good and healthy in the past, and now I have 2 meals of soylent a day and one conventional.

I feel so much more healthy then before, it is honestly hard to describe. More focus, better sleep, better energy all throughout the day, especially morning. My partner is equally amazed.

As it is such a new idea the early adoptsers are kind of lab rats :D but I am okay with that. Basically, it would be pretty difficult to make my nutrition worse then it was, so I figured the risks would check it out. After my first 5 days I am a total convert. It will of course take years and years before necessary long-term results are in.

Anyone else eating soylent stile meals? Or interested in the topic? I really recommended full heartedly, my experience so far was amazing.

I watched that classic movie in a drive-in theater as a teen, when it first came out & was horrified. However, I have considered using the product as it is toted as economical in budget as well as nutritional.

"Soylent 1.5 Improvements to texture from a reduction to oat flour and an addition of emulsifiers. Changes to carbohydrate levels from rice and potato starch adjustments. Removal of powdered safflower and flaxseed oil which were both replaced by canola oil powder, supplementing the existing powdered high oleic sunflower oil and algal oil. Slight reduction of sodium.[12] June 1, 2015[12] " https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soylent_%28drink%29

However consider not all products are equal and check the brands and version accordingly.
Let me know, how it works...I am all about nutrion in budgets. Thanks.

My ex tried it while he was working full time and going to school full time and simply didn't have any down time or energy left over. He seemed to like it, but thought it got bland/boring after a while. I also know from my own juice and water fasts that part of what we get out of eating is psychological. Even if you struggle with eating right/often enough it takes a mental toll over time to not be putting anything but liquids in your body. At least that's been my experience.

I'd personally be a bit concerned about additives/how far from real food it actually is. That said an improvement on what you would be doing otherwise is just that. I know I struggle to eat more than once or twice a day so often my compromise with myself has been that I make sure to also drink a protein shake made with a high quality protein and some fruit or juice. Not as good as cooking a well rounded meal, but better than not having that extra nutrition in the day.

Basically, I'd say if it works for you to keep your nutritional bases covered that's great but my non-professional advice from my own life experience would be to keep a close eye on how it affects your health and your other habits. Sometimes we feel like if we're doing one good thing we have more room to slack elsewhere. Just keep checking in with yourself as you move forward.

I am using nutrilent (a brand of soylent available in europe) for over a month now and I dont think I will ever go back.

Most days I use it for breakfast and dinner, and for lunch I cook something healthy. Every now and then I am not in the mood for cooking and it is another nutrilent. There are also some days where I dont eat it at all. We mix'n'match as we please, and that is fun and very, very convienent. My consumption of junk food has gone down from substantial to basically non existing. I was dumb though and ordered a refill to late, and yesterday I had to eat something shitty for dinner and it felt AWFULL. :D how amazing is that? It is good to know, that my partner has something healthy to eat on his very long days two times a week.

My bloodsugar is better and my bloodpressure has improved. My partner says he feels much, much better then ever and has a ton more energy. In the past he was Mr. GrumpyBitch after waking up, for hours, nowadays he is awake right away. It has been nothing short of miracoleus so far for us. I also love that it is affordable on a students salary, as money was a big reason why we often ate so unhealthy.

So far I recommend it wholeheartedly, and I am not a salesmen I swear ... :D
