Okay, this morning my significant other is on a high because I allowed him to clear out one of my cupboards (OCD issues) and decided to accompany me to the supermarket.
I had severe reservations due to his other OCD issue, which is to completely control the selection, packing and timing of putting the groceries in each bag with the military precision of an operational commander.
This generally causes the check out assistant to get caught up in the moment and start behaving like a recruit on her first day at camp.
However, today something even worse happened. There has been this person hanging around me rather than stalking and I have no idea who he is other than he works near to the building I work in and we pass each other in the street now and again.
I have thought for a while that he keeps turning up wherever I seem to be but he seems respectable so I haven’t thought a lot more about it and I nod to him, good morning and that is about it.
So, at the check out station this man turns up behind me in the queue and says (I’ll have to type what it sounded like) Helloooo… with a lot of emphasis on the O’s, not just the normal, polite hello. I just thought, OMG are you joking me? Can you not see that I am with an OCD, ex commando, hypervigilant control freak who will break your neck without a moments thought.
Immediately SO goes into fight response, completely tense, eyeballing him, one side of his mouth in a sneer and says “Who the f…. are you?”
The man just paled and stammered… oh, sorry I thought you were someone else and just kind of… ran to another aisle.
I don’t know why I find these things so funny…. Is something wrong with me do you think?
Why am I always laughing at this stuff???? Please tell me I am not alone!!!
