This will be my fifth one and they aren't fun, but they are not horrible either. I do mine without sedation and just a local anesthetic. It is more pressure than pain and afterwards I just feel a bit bruised. But my oncologist does a great job and always hits the marrow on the first try. Not a procedure that anyone should be terrified of, and a lot less painful that a root canal. :D

This is good to know. I signed up to be a bone marrow donor in my twenties. Haven't been called on as of yet and I am in my forties. But it is good to know just in case! Thank you.

I think donating bone marrow is less invasive. If I understand it correctly it's more like a blood draw.

Seems like this past year has caused me to make a lot of changes. Mostly for the good, but not the best circumstances. But I am really learning to make the best out of just about any circumstance.

Well the bone marrow biopsy is done and the doctor also did a bone biopsy. Today's bloodwork showed an uptick in a marker, but not enough to through it out of a normal range. The plan is to get me on maintenance as soon as possible, but overall he is calling the transplant a success and no second one in the near future!!! :D
