Stressing Over Entitlements

ok about a week ago I ranted about some anger things... and no I wasnt blaming everyone else for my prob... I was blaming everyone else in the system for not treating my PTSD.. or even acknowleging it till now.. thing that sux is my Iraq time is documented but short.. only 4 months... I got medevac'd out abt then.. the lebanon thing that was a full tour is nothing but a few entries in my health record with a USS Austin stamp on them.. not even TAD orders in my military service record..

I am debating whether to even try for it... gonna talk to the DAV first..

I would try for it. Since my time in Latin America was sealed and locked up ( never happened) my VSO is having me get letters from people that knew me during that time and noticed how I had changed. I found my roommate from that time and she wrote a letter for me. She explained about me leaving and when I got back I seemed withdrawn, exhausted, angry etc. When she recommended that I seek help I totally shut down. Internet is good for trying to find people. Of course some sites are better than others.

I got a couple letters from my cousin and a co-workers about how startled I am. The co-worker came up behind me and clamped her hands on my shoulders, I turned around and almost decked her. The main thing the VA wants to know is how has the trauma affected your life.

Hey Tho

The DAV or some veteran service organization to work as your advocate is definately the way to go. They know the landscape, the laws and the people at the VA as well. It's easier than trying to navigate those waters yourself. Good Luck.
