Stupidest.trigger. ever. / what is your weirdest trigger?

No need to appologize -- talking about the weird triggers counts as exposure (mildly) so I'd say it's good to acknowledge it like you have :)

Stop signs are a trigger, but it's gotten better since I've started driving. Blue carpet, or even just stains. Mud, cigarettes, sports narrators. Oh, and images of wolves. Not actual wolves -- found that out when I met two of them in person the other week, just their artful representations, lol.

It's really not weird, don't worry

It's always strange what crops up it of nowhere.

I "dislike" avocado and don't eat it. I had a friend eat a half an avocado with their teeth, they cut it, pitted it, and started just... eating it. I violently emptied my stomach contents until I went into dry heaves with no clue why. An avocado.

"It's just a <insert>" is a really easy way to discount a trauma related reaction to something otherwise innocuous. No need to feel dumb.

I also have the women with knives reaction--but I'm getting lots better with that one! The walls that are painted a certain color of brown-wow! flip out time. My husband sitting down and leaned forward and rested his arms on his knees and I lost my freaking mind and started screaming involuntarily "don't sit that way!" Black mens dress shoes-KaBAM! I appreciate this post actually, I could sit here for awhile and list things that sent me into orbit that showed up "randomly"-- certain odors, the music of pink floyd-no I can't listen to pink floyd holy toledo I'm going to die, it feels like I'm going to really die!

Anything touching a certain part of my neck, including wind on a beach. Men zipping up their fly. Pre-teens mouthing off. A certain tone in a voice. Metal belt sound when it hits the floor. Cool spring air with beautiful sky blue days with puffy white clouds. Sparkling creeks in the woods. The sound of footsteps on gravel. Building stairwells.

Ones I have accomplished that no longer bother me: a certain shade of green, wooden doors (that one was a huge accomplishment) and a shade of red.

How about this one?... stretching. Like you are sitting in a chair and stretch and then your triggered. Also Christmas lights, although I've worked on that one a lot. I know there are certain shows/music that trigger me but I can't remember what they are (thanks brain).
