What Was/Is Your Weirdest Symptom?

You are so funny Ghost.....

Stop nursing young kittens, their purrrrrrringgggg.... is changing your bodily functions, it's not normal. Maybe you should see a vet???

Lactating as a PTSD symptom, albeit a ' My Wierdest'. Ghost asks for any information or advice, but one feels hesitant to offer counsel without further elucidation on a subject not normally or naturally within the biological or physiological known propensities of the males of the species.

Other than that, I'd be happy to help. :)

False Alarm

Hi everybody

Finally went and saw a doctor yesterday about my 'unusual condition'.

Turns out that what I have is actually just a 'milky discharge' caused by infection, and sadly, it has absolutely no nutritional value at all.

Please people, learn from my mistake. Using a rusty fish hook for body piercing is NOT a good idea.

Thanks for the support everyone. Especially to those who pm'd me about getting a breastpump.

There are some nifty nursing bras you can get to use until the swelling goes down, and it'll make getting the hook out a lot easier. You might want to make sure the pliers are not rusty, either.

I think I'm having some kind of epileptic reaction to the hyper-vibrant colours in this "Valentines Special" forum theme.

Does this count as a weird symptom?

What should I do? I think you're supposed to stick a sock in your mouth or something, so you don't swallow your tongue.

Help!!!

When I have a really bad panic attack, I get wierd extremes temperature-wise. I either appear over-heated and feel hot or I get cold. Either way I shake. One time in the lobby, waiting for the last T I started to panic to the point of shaking. Since it was March, I went to wait outside on the bus bench. People just assumed I was cold and stopped asking me if I was ok.

Human camoflauge.

ThIs is going to sound really weird. It is not properly a physical symptom. It is rather a manifestation of poor eself-esteem. Here it is:
Two days ago, I went to lunch in a restaurant. The waitress who attended me was sooo kind, I must say condescendant (I do not know if this word does exist in English) She was so nice I felt BAD for being treated so gently...I felt really unconfortable and wanted to apologize or do something...I do not know why but everytime somebody is being nice with me I convince myself that something is wrong with him/her as I always expect rude treatment.

Odd is'nt it?

When I was a kid, and sometimes now when I think about it enough, I couldn't swallow anything. I would check my mouth/spit for hair constantly and had to spit it into a paper towel next to my plate. Spitting into the trashcan was enough to make me gag...
Then I guess that turned into full blown emetophobia, but as of two nights ago, I'm TOTALLY FINE WITH THROWING UP! Thank you stomach flu from coworker! :D

I think this was posted quite some time ago, but I'm a new member and I am emetophobic too. I have not met too many other people who suffer with emetophobia, so just wanted to comment on that. Glad you got over it, I'm still not over it whatsoever : (

Monticello18, I'm the same way. I was very, very sick as a kid. Exposure (Norwalk and stomach flu) hasn't gotten me over it. I still have a few of the ondansetron pills they gave me last year in emergency, and it's comforting to have them around. It's not just the sickness for me, it's also the pain. :/ The last time, they had to put me on a morphine drip. (More vomiting!)

I think shivering is my weirdest symptom. Whenever I get overly emotional (any emotion really) my whole body shakes really hard for prolonged periods of time even if I'm not cold. It certainly has made things like hugs and putting on make-up a bit stranger.

@Emily18 - Me too. If you are like me, you are coming out of the Freeze (of Fight, Flight, Freeze or Collapse). I stand up when it happens and shake it out while walking back and forth. It expedites the end of the shivering.

My weirdest symptom is my smell sensitivity. I can smell the faintest of scents. I can walk in the door and smell if my husband had a hard boiled egg or if he washed his hands or if anyone I meet had a drink in the previous 48 hours. All smells are overwhelming. Some good, some awful, some neither, but all intensely felt.
