"super powers" by dissociation

Hehehe, I have DID. So, yep, the “did I really do that?” thing used to be my normal.

I can confidently say that every single piece of fluroescent clothing in my wardrobe? I bought while I was dissociated. One of my parts apparently seems to think fluro is a great idea!

One of my parts speaks Indonesian. Hella cool!

Mostly DID sucks, so I’m with you on getting a laugh out of it when you can. I’m totally down with teleporting myself away from stressful events. (Was at a therapy session, somehow I’ve ended up on the beach...????!!).

I pay bills when dissociated. And then forget and then panic, then check and realize oh, already done.

In a way, superpower. Mostly, panic-time. I'd rather, any day, just know what I have done.

I pay bills, and never in a systematic way. Fear of bill collectors has me paying them so well, and not recalling I did, that I'm sent a check for overpayment by the company. This has probably happened 8 times in the last 2 years. Silly me....and I hate billpaying!

Isn’t that something they would do by definition of being parts?

I mean the missing chunks of info / life are even part of the basis for the whole diagnosis.

Yeah I'm worried I'm like living a whole life I don't even know about lol. I've heard of some really weird things that I would have never thought were possible like a guy thought his wife was a telephone for like 30 years. I mean how did that resolve itself? One day his telephone transformed into his wife? After 30 years? That's major dissociation.

I wouldn't be. :)

Things leak through. Eventually. In some way.
& How other people react to you is fairly good tell.

Yes sometimes people mention things and I don't know what they're talking about and some people say hi to me and I have no idea who they are.

That doesn't sound like dissociation. Are these things you heard of in your head or someone elses?

This one happens to me a lot, especially when I’m stressed I don’t even need to switch to not recognise people. It improves when my stress levels come down, but when I’m being introduced to someone I want to remember? I make sure I’m grounded.
