Sufferer Survivor of Female SA

I’m a woman and was sexually assaulted by a woman when I was 14. Most women find support in sex segregated groups. The assault and also the way the women in my family and others treated me developed my personality in a way that leaves some women, but rarely men, uncomfortable engaging with me. I jumped onto this forum to find support without further female rejection. Send me a reply if this resonates.

Hi...
I don't talk about my sexual abuse much at all, cos the perp was a woman. It doesn't fit into the narratives ppl have about abuse/ men/ women. I don't have the energy to argue ppl about it, so I mostly just end up not talking about it. It's hard. It adds another layer of invalidation.

i am a child sex trafficking survivor and, for this very reason, have gotten much further in processing the trauma perpetrated by men than women. the recruiters and groomers are almost always women and their tactics can be quite vicious.

please don't ask me to buy the sugar and spice stereotypes of women as perpetual innocent victims. in my personal herstory, the meaner they are the harder they play those stereotypes. the stereotypes mask hideous amounts of social injustice. there is no hiding place more effective than assumption.

This resonates but for different reasons, but unfortunately I don't feel that I am comfortable engaging with anyone and vice versa

Chick with combat PTSD.

In the country I live in? The boys get sent to one group, and the girls the other. The other? Ain’t my group.

So we have different backgrounds, but dayum does that resonate.

The one woman who's comfortable with me is in JAG and was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. She spent some time in Kabul warning fellow soldiers not to pet the rabid cats and dogs.
