I've had a little photo shoot with the cuddle bros.

I feel as though I have neglected a few friends by only introducing Mr Tumbles  Somewhere around here (they have been packed away for their own safety) I have a pink spotted frog and a stuffed Stitch that once sat upon my computer monitor - that was their home all through college. Froggie came to me through an old friend on my birthday one year, I can no longer remember where Stitch came from. I do believe it is time to unpack them and find them a new home in the house.

Starting to feel bad that I don't have any actual stuffed animals. Just the real ones. Actually, I do have two tiny animals that someone at my mom's work gave her and I keep in my bookshelf in her memory. But none, with the exception of the live ones, that I sleep with. Just my animals, my hubby, and my pillow. Now I'm wanting a stuffed animal. :(

Love this thread! I am 23 and have a stuffed dog names Brownie that I have had since I was a baby. He sleeps with me every night and I REFUSE to put him in checked bags on airplanes because if he ever got lost I don't know what I would do. I don't really care that I am an adult with a stuffed animal. My therapist kind of validated it for when I was caring by telling me "OF COURSE I have a stuffed animal. I was never able to "attach" to a safe adult and then establish safety in the world so I am still "attached" to him" or something like that. Sometimes I even talk to him. I used to do that more as a kid. I know he's not real and doesn't talk back, but sometimes it helps to get thoughts out of my head.

I think you should go out and find your Stuffy!! There's no better feeling than a friend who will listen no matter what and not beg you to go out to pee on that tree!! (Even if they are a stuffed animal!)

Lauren, I believe my T said something similar to me about a year ago when I voiced fears that my husband was going to kick me and/or Tumbles out of our bed, so I decided that in situations like ours it must be pretty normal and I refuse to worry about it!!

I am so impressed people have their teddys from childhood! I only have a few and they aren't too old. When my insomnia gets bad I have my elephant. He's sitting here right now. I also have a tiny teddy on standby at my mum's house which is great because she loves it too.

I have often felt really pathetic and that people would judge me for cuddling a teddy to sleep. He has an arm that isn't stuffed fully and I like that he isn't perfect. I loved my porcelain dolls although I never played with them as a child, I just liked to make sure they looked perfect and they were all on a shelf (currently in a box, poor girls). Thank you all so much, I don't feel daft now. My partner was really nice about it - I thought he would run a mile, but he knows it's better I have my elephant than wake him up at 4am. I will mention this to my counsellor as she was talking about how as adults we don't play anymore the last time I saw her. We forget how to have fun and be imaginative; I didn't realise this is her way of getting me to the inner child stuff.

Apologies to the other teddys (and moose/dogs/pillow/living pets/etc), but Mr Teddy Tumbles is the cutest - his wee smiling face, it's braw.
