I'm still up too. I have to be up in 3 hours to make dessert for the Christmas luncheon at the clinic tomorrow :)

I like Tony Bennett and all those guys, even with our Michael Buble, they don't make voices like that anymore.

@nursenurse - Too true. Michael Buble is great. I love his and Tony's duet on the PBS Tony Bennett Duets II special. I think it's number II. A lot of great singers on that one. Lady Gaga did Lady Is A Tramp and was unbelievable. I think she is coming out with or has come out with a jazz album. I'd get it. Also Andrea Bocelli sings Stranger in Paradise w/Tony and it breaks your heart - in a good way! Hope you got some sleep. I got 2 1/2 hours so tonight's sleep might be good.

When I was a child I had an imaginary friend that turned out to be the spirit of my grandmother's sister that passed away as a child.(no I'm not crazy...okay maybe a little :laugh:)

I got my first "real" kiss when I was six or seven. My friend and I had just scared our siblings to stay out of the basement and resumed playing with his race cars when I thought he was going to hug me, so I went to hug him back, but he kissed me somewhat on the cheek. Just then his mom came down the stairs and we quickly lost our embrace. Perhaps this is one of the reasons I have such a hard time forgetting him after his death nearly 40 years ago. Our closeness and innocence.

Strays use to follow me home when I was a little girl. We weren't allowed dogs in our apartment building but they always seemed to come around. One kept coming each time my mom called my name. Turned out her name was Britt too. It was hilarious. Now I get to have pups. I'm blessed.

My short term memory is getting worse. I got a nice alpaca argyl sweater for TM from Novica, a fair trade organization. I thought he might get a kick out of something from ("Darkest", Paddington Bear)Peru. We have talked about fair trade NGO's and the restoration of communities. One year I sent 1/2 a lama to Peru through the Heifer Project . Then......some time later.....I went to Macy's on line and bought him another argyl sweater, having totally forgotten I had one already. Not too bad of a mistake except for the budjet.

I'm not big on making resolutions, but I am thinking about making some this year. I think you should always be willing to change for the better, not just one time of year.

• I talk to photographs the way I used to talk to my teddybear when I was small. It makes me feel safe and less lonely.
• I grew up on a group of islands on the coast of Africa. I had a great time living in nature and I would pretend to be a native american.
• I have lived in a house, in a trailer, in an army tent, in a cave, and in a bungalow.
• Once there was a forest fire raging over our terrain. When the fire left I slept in the bungalow despite threat of smoke.
• I'm more into "male" activities than "female" ones. My dream job is to be a pilot and fly a vintage plane like the spitfire.
  
• I am afraid of singing but have been told in the past that I had a great voice. I admire people who dare to sing.

My grandmother died in 2008. It took me a long time to "get over it" as I truly believe that she was the only one on earth who loved(s) me unconditionally. Her favorite colors were red, blue, and yellow(blue and yellow had to be together). I am finding myself finally being able to think of her without the pain of loss and buying some things in blue and yellow, because they comfort me. I recently bought bedding in those colors, blue and yellow, and a pair of tennies to work out in. I want to surround myself with the good memories.

I kind of feel guilty because I never, ever, thought my parent's loved me unconditionally even though they would say that they did.
