The Dukan Diet

I don't think any diet is suitable, to be perfectly honest. This one has had its fair share of pain involved. The first week we were both feeling quite ill... though persisted and it all got better. After a few weeks of stuffing around and wasting lots of food with trial and error meals, we ended up with a nice list of meals that fit within the foods we like. What we missed initially was that all the things like herbs and spices, can be used, as long as they're fresh / dried type. Nothing bad basically. Sauces and other things are also ok, providing their also low fat / no fat types.

After learning all these little bits and pieces which aren't in the books, suddenly we started making yummy meals, and getting a routine with it all. It still hurts at times losing weight. Stomach pains, etc... but it works and works well, and is relatively healthy with the 100 all you can eat foods available.

I literally stuff myself with food, and am still losing weight. It just took a few weeks to adjust and get a grip on it all. Our weekly shopping cost has decreased as a result also, which is nice. Helps pay the bills elsewhere.

13kg down, another 1.4kg to go. By the book, I'm supposed to meet this weight of 85.8kg by 11/11. I think I will, though I expect it may take another week, as that last kilo or so can take longer. Still gives me near two weeks, so I'm aiming to do it without much issue. Dukan timetable and strategy has worked well thus far.

Very pleased to see improvement. My own husband made his own dietary changes and initiated them... he's off meds and is feeling spry and funky. A happy man. He makes his own choices for breakfast and dinner, and I am responsible for a dinner meal... mostly raw these days. He's tolerating it well and has a new appreciation for flavors and herbs.

Just from Anthony's face - see how great he is now looking since losing weight.... :inlove:

Us bumming at home tonight

Well, it was two weeks longer than the Dukan calculator worked out it would take to lose the weight, though I am now on stage 3... well, I was on it days ago, but got around to writing about it. I actually thought I had to hit 85kg when it was 86kg, which I hit a week or so ago. O'well... better more than less.

I believe I should still lose weight, as stage 3 only introduces a few additional things, but more importantly, cuts the protein days from every second day to once a week. That is the nice part IMO... normal daily meals again, just without the junk. Can now apparently have junkie type meals twice a week, but I think I will sustain from that and stick with the good foods. Makes things nice and easy... and still can eat as much of them as I want without putting on any weight.

I have decided to give this a try. I need to do something and with my other health issues, I have to keep my carbs under control - this seems like a good way to go. Let's hope I can stay on it!:D

I wonder if I would feel like I was eating too much on this diet(the mind can play horrible tricks at times)?...hmmm..Though I do like what you said Nicolette about Anthony seeming less depressed. That more then anything else has me considering this. I'll have to look into it. Plus I have to consider my own physical health. I'm not suppose to cut out salt(amazing but true). Does this diet do that?

Interesting.
