I'm writing to connect and to vent. I have had the most insane, ungrounded, hectic, panicky week I've had in a long while.
My roof has been leaking on and off for 2+ years since I moved to my apartment. On Wednesday of last week, my landlord emailed me to say that they had re-rubberized it and I should be good but to keep him updated. That same day, there was a crazy storm and it leaked. My closet and clothes were again soaked. I emailed him, two emails. One, the roof is still leaking. Two, I am a reliable, responsible tenant my job is to pay rent and report these issues and the property management company should handle them. His response, "I understand, I'll break your lease by out by the end of the month." He gave me six days. In Colorado, apparently month to month renters (which I was) only legally are required to be given seven. I responded saying maybe there'd been a miscommunication and I just wanted the issue addressed. He said, move out so I can fix it. I consulted my law options, and the attorney said it could drag out especially because the leaky roof is a major violation, but if I can afford to move, I should. So, the past week all I've been doing is packing, trying to find a place to stay, and moving things to friend's houses.
Then, on top of the roof issue. I get a call from my parents that they received a bill $3.5k from a University for a class I didn't know I was signed up for and never attended. This is the first I'd heard of any of it. I submitted an appeals packet to them earlier this week. I found a place to stay for July and signed on a place for August 15. And, on Monday, I ended it with the new therapist because I can't afford her regularly right now (but I still have my meditation teacher/reiki practitioner to support me).
One of the more stressful weeks of my life.
