Story is this, my sister died of a brain tumour 4 years ago, my mum died last October and 5 days after her funeral my husband of 20 years left me for another woman.

I have read the symptoms and it sounds like everything that happens in my head

The symptoms of PTSD are all found in other disorders. Some of which are more treatable, some of which are less treatable... but the treatments are often wildly different. Even, sometimes, opposite; the same treatment that helps one disorder, sends another disorder to crazy-town on the lunatic express.

Having any of the symptoms though, rates seeking help.

Whilst knowing what disorder you have can make finding help easier? Self diagnosis tends to just make things a lot harder & take a lot longer. Yes, it’s a pain to go through all the testing, and medical testing (to rule out physiological causes)... but it’s very worth going through it, IMO, so you’re treating the right thing, instead of wasting years treating the wrong thing.

IE - You don’t have to have a diagnosis to seek help.

That’s part of the seeking-help-process. Going into someone with what’s going on with you, and your life, & letting a professional point you in the right direction.

Hi @Charlie22 - you have suffered some terrible losses and I am very sorry.

Self-diagnosis is not going to be helpful. It is never helpful no matter how correct you think you are.

Seek help and I hope you find someone who can sort out your symptoms and give you appropriate treatment.
