What made you pick 23 days?

I have no idea. I guess just because when I was thinking about this there were 23 days until christmas. If you cannot come up with 23 things, then do one every other day, or every third day. The idea is to find postives you can look forward to so the season is more enjoyable.

Day 20: I look forward to baking cookies with my daughter for Santa Claus. I also look forward to eating said cookies before Santa can get to my house!!

I am going to keep going, I may just need some help on occasion. It's good for me to try to think of positives since I don't get to see my son this Christmas before he deploys in the beginning of January, I have only been able to think of the negatives. This is the first times in 21 years I will not see him for Christmas. I got to see him before he deployed last time and I'm bummed knowing he's going out on the front lines yet again and if anything happens, I didn't get to see him and hold him and look him in the eye while I tell him how much I love him.

Not sure what day it was but I was thankful we put up our tree and the boys took time out of their gaming to at least hang an ornament or two.

@Ghostybear73 Is there a way to send a box of christmas goodies ahead so your son can get them when he arrives at his post? That would be a really big I love you from his Mom... keep your chin up, it's going to be a good christmas.

Where there actual post ends up is all hush hush until about 2 days prior. However, once he's settled, he gets packages weekly.

Day 20: I am so looking forward to christmas morning cinnamon rolls. I make them fresh in the bread maker, and for the icing I use butter, milk, powdered sugar vanilla and a tsp of rum extract. Yum.

I'm looking forward to my husband putting up the pine cone people. It is a set of the manger people made out of huge pine cones. It was my mom's. My eldest son decided he wanted it after she passed away two years ago. It makes me smile. I'm waiting for my husband because he said he would do it and the place we are putting them is over my head and out of my reach.
