I am really having a difficult time in my marriage right now. The extreme reactions I am having to triggers is distorting reality. I'm dealing with dissociation daily. I don't know what is real and what is perceived. Mu husband and my son (autistic) just got in to it and it got really physical. I panicked dropped a bottle of ketchup. And I thought I heard him yell, "what did uou think I was going to do to him?" So I looked at the floor and answered "nothing". No one was in the chat room. TRying to calm down. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I’m so sorry things are so difficult right now.

Do you mean your husband got into a physical fight with your son?

When I need to ground in a hurry, I hold ice or something frozen. Good way to zap my nervous system to the here and now. If you use the search option for the forum, you can find a lot of threads on a wide variety of grounding techniques.

Hey @TurtleRock I'm sorry you are experiencing so much distress right now.

I think you are just beginning therapy or starting soon - is that right?

This is the kind of issue you could raise with your T.

Have you or your husband discussed therapy to help work on your relationship too because having a son who is autistic must be quite a challenge and a stress on your relationship even without ptsd.

You dropped a bottle... were you startled by what was happening? It's a reaction and only you know why it happened.

You mentioned your anxiety levels were peaking in your intro. Do you get much exercise or at least some time out doing things for yourself - outside of the home?
