We started out in California, went to Oregon and then Washington. Backtracked through Oregon on the way to Idaho then Utah. From Utah we briefly touched Idaho then went through Wyoming, Montana, and South Dakota. Now we are in Minnesota.
I am learning so much about my country! The weather is flip flopping from 40 degrees to 110 degrees. My body is miserable. My IBS is completely flipping out.
About two weeks into the trip (now we are five weeks) I got some dramatic/unfortunate emails from folks back home. That resulted in two + weeks of not sleeping and crying all the time. That sucked. I feel like things are resolved enough for now.
The kids and I are getting along better than I expected. They are fighting one another more than they are fighting me. (*phew*) We've had a lot of fun. So far South Dakota has been my favorite. I really loved the Black Hills.
Minnesota feels strangely like Hawaii because the humidity is so high and the only time in my life I've been in this much warm rain was in Hawaii. Strangely tropical.
I've decided to delete 4 states from the itinerary because I'm so tired. We are staying with my friends longer and doing fewer side trips on our own.
Tomorrow we get to really explore the town of Duluth. After an oil change. So far our first two days here have involved chores and errands. Need to fix the parts on the trailer that are trying to fall off. Time to put all the bumper stickers on. Clean and organize food storage area.
Only four months of this to go. I'm so tired. But we're learning a lot and having fun!
