Tui Na As A Form Of Physical Therapy

I really thought about where to put this. It didn't quite seem "discussion" or "social" to me. I'm asking about a therapeutic modality. I'm not sure if this forum is meant to be rigidly for talk therapy.

I saw an acupuncturist today who suggested Tui Na. I'm reading random websites but I was wondering if anyone here had tried it and what your experiences were like.

Thanks in advance.

I haven't tried Tui Na but know of it. It is a powerful energy medicine. Many times used in conjunction with acupuncture. I would be careful about letting any energy worker who is not familiar with trauma near you. Is your acupuncturist a Tui Na specialist?

I'm afraid the acupuncture may have been a little too aggressive this morning. I haven't been doing well for a while and today has just been...

I'm walking around town crying cause I literally can't stop. I'm getting really overwhelmed by all the strangers who want to hug me to "make me feel better".

The problem is I had a super disruptive therapy session *literally* right before the acupuncture session. I don't talk to my therapist again for three weeks.

Tui Na is excellent. I have had it 3x and have done it alongside acupuncture. It's great that the practitioner has trauma knowledge/skills. It's very gentle, non-invasive (you're clothed), and a really good way to introduce/work on calm with touch, which is a trigger for me. It also can incorporate energy/breathwork which I've found really helpful in my process. I'd definitely recommend checking it out.

Body work is connection. A hug can make you smile or cry from the kind energy transferred. Deeper body therapy releases ripples, trickles, waves of bound up toxic detritus. Cry it all out as it comes, good riddance. Sooth and refresh, water, tea, bath. Easy on yourself, grief is bound up in all of that as well. Let it flow out. Open the flood gates, the storm drains, purging.
