Two Years Sober

To wake up another year later on this day is an accomplishment. My family went away with my mom in law and husbands family. Before they left they said not to do anything stupid. I dont think they remember that this was the day I quit drinking, and the day they could have found me out in the yard. In a weird way today is more important than my birthday. I am planning on marking my "Survival Day" instead. To do something to appreciate the day.

This year, its Chinese food for lunch and dinner. Its too hot to go anywhere so its staying in for me with some good food. I had been nervous about how I would deal without my family here, but i seem to be ok so far and have scheduled lots to do for the week.

That is a major accomplishment. It sounds as if it isn't under the most ideal and easy circumstances either. You have every reason to have positive feelings for the work and growth you have cultivated inside your life.

@Gadgie they are on a once in a lifetime cruise to bermuda. my mother in law is in her mid to late 80s, and i am home because my asthma would go nuts with the humidity. So I am happy for them and hope they have a great time.
