So my T tries grounding me prior to leaving. Although "we" can get semi grounded before leaving, as soon as we leave her office, gone. The rest of tonight and next few days will be hell. Yes she knows this and a second appt in the week is soon to be added. Still, the parts are loud, and everything in between. Is anyone else out there like us? Its so lonely and sad.

I have a lot of trouble staying grounded these days, and my T doesn't help at all.

But...when I was in intense therapy with my insiders, getting to know each other, etc..., and we had the same issues, that therapist and a group I was in at the time, along with some reading I did, helped me learn to manage the in-between times a lot better.

Not sure if you are DID, or if you have open communication with your "parts," but the biggest thing that helped me was to stop fighting all the chaos (which was huge for me for awhile) and sort of "sit" with it. I would listen to what was going on and, if I couldn't actively communicate with anyone inside, I would at least take note of all I observed. What I noticed was that the more I paid attention, the more I learned. Also, things became less chaotic. They got quieter.

Best to you.

Yup. When I first started seeing my T, his comment was something like, "You dissociate, hard, at the drop of a hat!" I did, and still do to a certain extent. Its one of the biggest reasons we can't do EMDR right now. The current strategy is to recognize when I'm dissociating and pay attention to why I feel the need to check out. It's very educational, and I've been getting better at recognizing when and why I'm dissociating. As I learn to pay attention and recognize it, the severity of the dissociative episode seems to slightly alleviate. It will come in time as I gain experience feeling again, but it sure is a long and difficult road, one that I have to take an active part in. Yeah, "sitting with" the dissociation, and grounding as you feel safe, is the way to go. Good luck!
