Hello, everyone!

My story is rather unfortunate and although I have been a supporter of my GF's trauma in March, I have suffered multiple traumas over the course of my life. For the reason stated above, I identified as both a sufferer and supporter.

My personal history of trauma is:
• my mother passing from breast cancer 9 days after my fourth bday
• my father self-medicating w/ alcohol and pills to deal with his grief
• childhood molestation from ages 7-9
• my brother being sent to live w/ my grandmother when I was 12 due to conflicts between him and my at the time stepmom.
• watching my father remarry and divorce twice. Neither stepmom was great towards me.
•Leaving home 3 weeks short of my 17th bday due to my father's alcoholism which had increased to mental, verbal, and physical abuse.
• My father passing when I was 18

I consider myself a supporter due to what happened to my GF, the love of my life.
Last March she was driving home from a doctor's appt. when a lady tried to cross the street in front of her. It was dark, the lady was dressed in dark clothing, my GF had the right of way and was cleared of all liability by the police.

Needless to say, she has struggled with almost every aspect due to this tragedy including survivor's guilt, depression, suicidal ideation, etc.

To no one's surprise, this has taken a toll on our relationship. Things have been hard, but I am commited to being her best supporter. I want to marry this girl, I will battle her demons alongside her til the end.

Thank you for reading.

As I was reading your story, I began to wonder if you were referring to @Ruinedforever!

Redkey, I'm so sorry that you had to deal with such tragic events in your childhood and youth. I think it's beautiful that you're here to support your love, and also to aid in your own recovery.

I'm glad the two of you found us!
