Thanks for sharing that.
I am just a person on the internet - not at all a doctor. But vraylar is used for the management of bipolar 1 and schizophrenia. I can guess at the psychopharmacology that would lead to it being prescribed for dissociation - but that would appear to be an off-label use. So, either your psychiatrist has a good amount of experience with it as a drug and believes it fits your symptom profile, or, they just read an article about people starting to use it off-label and decided to give it a try.
I don't know you, your symptoms, their intensity, your doctor, your medical history - and, I am 100% Not A Doctor. But being a person who has seen a lot of psych docs and taken a lot of medications - I'd encourage you to try and get in to see yours, if at all possible, and have a more thorough conversation about the side effects vs. the benefits.
Definitely, check with him to see if what you are feeling right now is normal. It's the leading side effect, so he'll probably say yes. But I encourage you to follow up with a bigger conversation about this medication and whether it's right for you. Also, depending on your insurance, pay attention to the cost. I don't know that it's offered in the US as a psych drug in generic form, since it was only approved a year ago. This might totally be a non-issue. But, if your doc is starting you on samples, and you've not tried to fill it at a pharmacy yet, please call your insurance provider and make sure that it will be covered.
