What Are You Thankful For?

I am thankful that in spite of the gales and horizontal wind there are signs of spring on the way. A hardy bunch of purple crocus, have appeared in my lawn.

I am thankful that I held my impulse and waited to buy... I found a convection toaster oven for $5 instead of $40-70 and the proceeds went for a good cause (SOCKS - Save Our Cats and Kittens). I was so glad to get it I donated the change I got from a ten dollar bill. It is practically brand new and they had a water pipe break during the last freeze.

I am so very thankful that I am having more and more good days, and they are really good days. I am also thankful that my daughter kicked her loser boyfriend out of the house. It is going on two weeks now and things are so much better around here. I am also thankful that my daughters cat had four healthy kittens. They are hairless cats and very unique and she has someone interested in buying one already.

I'm thankful for a phone call at the perfect time. And I'm thankful for my therapist.

I am thankful for my loving family, really great friends, and the fact that I am beginning to heal from the death of my husband and getting on with my life and moving on. I am really thankful that I have more and more good days.

I am thankful for a husband who is observant when it comes to what is going on inside of me. He sees that my sleep need is a sign that something is wrong. Despite my assuring him I am fine.

I am thankful of a less than anticipated vet bill and that I stopped by my mothers who has begun having nose bleeds.

I'm thankful that my nurse practitioner understood my dire need for help, and is going to assist me. We are trying a new medicine that he feels he can get many plenty of samples of, because I can't afford it otherwise. I feel guilty. Still I am thankful that he knew how bad I have been doing and isn't blowing it off.

I am thankful for the cozy room I have for nights I can't sleep with soft lights and all my books and photos and drawings and the TV with lots of pre-records and a comfy couch and the lights of the city outside the big windows.

I'm thankful that I do not have that incessant drive to crawl back into bed today.
