What Did You Lose In Your Life Because Of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder?

I lost a lot of myself. Shortly after my trauma, a friend described watching me drop him off at the airport and wave and drive off. I told him, "that was the last time you saw me." I felt that me was gone and I believed that to be true to the core. I am very slowly getting some of "me" back after months, and I hope I can get more of "me" even though I can't ever change the bad that turned me into a different "me." Hope that made sense.

What I lost because of PTSD ... my psychiatrist admitted last wednesday that I would never be able to work full time because of all the issues that happened during 2002 and 2010. I will be able to do my independant job part time and the rest, well I have to resigne and eventually accept that I will be on welfare. I haven't even been able to tell my children the news yet. I put myself on a shut down for a while, I find it hard. I was really thrilled because I was starting to laugh again with this forum and some of the goofy things members were writing. Like I told both my psychologist and psychiatrist, it's been such a long time. so between the forum and the combination of Abilify and celexa, my depression went from major to moderate ... And by the way Anthony and Nicolette, they were both pretty impressed with the printed informations of this forum. This is a super ressource for people who don't have that service in their city or their region. They'll be passing this information on to others. Unfortunately, it will only be english speaking people who will benefit. Later on, I will be going to the university and meet certain departments to present this forum. I'm certain that futur professionals could benefit from all the insight they could get with this forum.
