After seeing the Musical "OLIVER" live on Broadway (NYC) when I was a kid, I decided I wanted to be an "acter." I did not know that there were actors and actresses back then, and my mind conjured up the word "acter" to describe what I thought my parents were saying about the young boy who played Oliver.
Later on I wanted to be a Dr. (To which my father, who often called me "stupid" replied that I was not smart enough. They learned much later that I was very smart, just had a learning disability, Dyslexia. I didn't learn to read until my 2nd time through the 3rd grade of Grammar School.
I loved art. I always excelled in it, so later on I wanted to be an artist, so I went to one of the best art colleges in the country, Pratt Institute, in Brooklyn, and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
I painted a series of paintings about lake legends of the world. You know, the Loch Ness "Monster" and all that. Actually, there are about 320 lakes all around the world in which weird phenonoma have been reported. So I had plenty of weird and wonderful inspiration. I showed in galleries around the country. It was mostly the mystery of the subject that brought people to my shows. No one hardly ever bought a painting, unless I sold it to them. I guess I was a pretty good sales person. I had to be there in person to do this, though, and travelling was not something my body (suffering from Lyme Disease) could deal with, so I hardly ever travelled. Hence, I was not overly famous or successful. However, I did have fun!
