Once the flashbacks are over mine often repeat over and over again. I don't know what to do with them.Have you found ways to make them stop? I used to email my old T and just getting them out helped a little. Something about the power of telling another human being. I don't want to traumatize my friends By telling them. I have only had one appointment with my new T SO the level of trust buiibuilding is still in the first stage with her. EMDR was not for me (that was a seperate T from the one's I am mentioning here.)

"Something about the power of telling another human being"
This was my experience. Psychodynamic trauma recovery therapy was long and painful. But the suppressed trauma of my childhood became real when I was able to understand it with my adult mind. Talking to another person and journaling were a big part of the process of healing. As I gradually became more aware of the feelings and memories in my flashbacks, they either stopped or began to taper off until they eventually disappeared.

I just ride them, then work on grounding & bleeding off the stress chemicals jacking up my bloodstream. If I don't start tapping all of those chemicals & venting the stress (aka exercise, mostly) I start shutting down very quickly, disassociating for hours, & have to start sleeping them off.

Basically I work on shortening the time Im in them / yanking myself back to the present as quickly as possible, and then work on shortening the recovery time.

Ignoring outliers... It's gone from roughly 10 hours a day in FB&D to roughly 5 hours over the past year and a half.
