Hmmm... Feel free to add your own P's as you please as it is a joint endeavor but personally I'd be more inclined to add "Pupil" than 'prentice. I did find "pupil" under the synonyms though?

Precious? I don't know. It's descriptive rather than action oriented or it attaches high value. I personally stay away from stuff like that. The origin/main premise of the P's was to steer, assist and compliment goal setting and personal growth.

Maybe too I'd consider adding prepared or preparation. Sort of hijacked this thread, but Friday's participating so guess it's okay?

Added in edit: Oh crap, I have a duplicate. Will have to dig around and try to fix it, potential is twice and either I'm missing one or I miscounted..

Added in 2nd edit: Okay left off the "pupil" but took up too more to bring it up to an even 20 for now though more may surely follow and did a first edit of shuffling them around a bit... will now take it too my diary but here they are:

The 20 “P”S: Presence, perception/perceptiveness, perspective, potential, patience, planning, purposeful (aka meaningful), preservation(istic), prepared/preparedness, prudence, positive, proactive, priority/prioritized, practice, persistence, perseverance, pleasure(ful), peace (or peaceful), prosocial, and prayer (???)

IDK how this didn't make my first list.

People.

People have been absolutely, incomparably, invaluable to me... In every step of this process. Not just the difference between life & death, but more importantly the difference between misery&madness... And strength&joy.

ETA
@Albatross&Cashew...lol... A totally unintentional P, for ya, too ;)

Hmmm. Presence sort of covers grounding... and "proprioception" seems to be more of a medical term and is not in the Oxford though it is in some (French for example). Wiki has a page on it. Medical stuff is not actionable really... intention for instance would do nothing. From Wikia:
"Proprioception (from Latin proprius, meaning "one's own" and perception) is the sense of the position of parts of the body, relative to other neighbouring parts of the body. Unlike the six exteroception human senses of sight, taste, smell, touch, hearing, and balance, that advise us of the outside world, proprioception is a sense that provides feedback solely on the status of the body internally. It is the sense that indicates whether your body is moving with required effort, as well as where the various parts of the body are located in relation to each other." Didn't read it all but it strikes me as atanomic?

Re: People, I had already discussed with a shrink friend about adding "peers", but decided against it, as people at times can fail... resilience, autonomy and self-efficacy seldom do but can also. The benefit though is that a self directed course of improvement or growth also overwrites the "old tapes" with practice, consistency (becoming habitual then when practiced for 6 months or so a new or reaffirmed behavior) and with applied efforts we can most often have a renewed sense of competency, capableness, and symptomology eases for anxiety producing or stressful situation and to some degree even triggers.

Of course if they are helpful, take the P's and make them your own... keeping in mind that they are a core set of buzz words geared to be assistive and actionable either through cultivating character traits or skill sets or by goal achievement.

Praying, therapy, reading books to keep my mind off it, when I read, my mind gets to into the story so deeply that I forget where I am, who I am and am just immersed in the story. I often read biographies as this is the kind of book I can bury myself in the best.

Also, I don't own a TV, because all that is on the news and in the shows has too much violence and mayhem for me. I stay away from TV at all costs!

Oh! I would be totally lost without my TV, I like the documentary channels, especially the science and wild life ones.

Watching them relaxes me, takes me into another world altogether. I cancelled the films package, as they kept showing the same films, but I would really miss the documentary channels.

RE: The ever evolving list of "P's (things that I find helpful) ... just an update to keep a few bread crumbs around in case I get lost and to bump the thread cuz those who know me know how I loves mah P's.

Don't know how I missed it cuz I've used it now for like 5 years throughout the day but rainy daze popped up and added pause. Of course she is right about the power of the pause so now it's 21 :

The 21 “P's": Pause, presence, perception/perceptiveness, perspective, potential, patience, planning, purposeful (aka meaningful), preservation(istic), prepared/preparedness, prudence, positive, proactive, priority/prioritized, practice, persistence, perseverance, pleasure(ful), peace (or peaceful), prosocial, and prayer.
