Mine was built on conscious disregard of myself @Chimera, by others and by myself. The only choices that were really mine were to love, and to leave.

And @Junebug I'm glad you haven't died. You bring companionship and support and depth to my experience here. And I'm certain I'm not the only one that feels this way. I think the only thing that could be worse then these later stages of PTSD would be the possibility of having to go them alone. So thank you for your presence and your support, and for the depth that only misfortune and suffering can achieve. Thank you for protecting me from feeling alone.
