What Made You Angry Today?

some questions are so painful to us. I understand a little and hope you find some answers that bring you peace

I believe I have the answer. When someone asks me a question about my family's medical history, I'm going to be straightforward and honest with them.

I will just say that I left home when I was 18 years old, thus I'm not able to answer your questions. I can always tell them that I found out the date when my mother died by the way of the internet. They should be able to to figure out that I didn't have a close relationship with my family.

Just tired of opening that wound over and over and the shame I have been carrying around for too long about this. Blunt and honest from now on.

In some cases of filling out forms, I simply place with an asterisk, "Do not know & please do not ask." If they ask anyway...I simply stare them politely down. Such as with my female visits ...at 60+ my miscarriages or how many surviving children does not effect their diagnosis of the current body parts on hand, you know? Boundaries extend to medical for me....even therapist. My family of origin issues have been addressed...I redirect them to the current situation on hand and explain this is not my first session.:)

Do not know & please do not ask."
Lots of  and  coming your way @Recovery4Me for your reply.

What you wrote especially about how boundaries even pertains to the medical profession and to a therapist is what I needed to hear. I just know in the future that I will be handling this type of a situation in a way that is in my best interest compared to what I have done in the past.

Blessings from me.
