You know there are fakers everywhere, people who take the easy out, or take a pat on the back that was for someone else.

We even have people over here that put in claims for disaster relief and they were nowhere near it at the time. Or those who take other government benefits, like disability benefits when there is nothing wrong with them.

The list is endless.

Well, if they just stole valor, that would be one thing but they steal resources from those that need it so much more. Service org. officers (the good ones) complain about Vets my age coming in wanting to file a claim for hemorrhoids, when there's a million claim backlog, and kids are losing their homes waiting to hear something from the VA.

Additionally, frivolous claims tend to jade claim rater's attitude into a "they're all just trying to get a free ride" thing, making ratings harder to get. More and more, VA employees are stepping forward, at the risk of job loss, and placing blame squarely on the shoulders of management, where it belongs.

Personally, I'll treat any person that says they are a Veteran with respect. If I find out they are phony's, it gets ugly from there.

It still pisses me to the max that my own blood brother in a phony. He's got a story that puts pulp fiction to shame. But he screwed up and said he worked for the DoD, so he can't later file for Veteran benefits. Scumbag. Only person I know that flunked the Navy.

Didn't someone already post the article about the VA Hospital directors getting huge bonuses (~$50K) for poorly run hospitals in Buffalo & Pittsburgh that permanently infected vets with disease. SES (Sr. Exec Service) -- what I call a Crat -- suck the blood out of the bureaucracy for their own benefit. I'm at the point if they boast of being an SES, it has an immediate poor connotation to me; they're a sell-out Crat until they prove otherwise.
