Seriously, living out here, I can confirm they are better off then the UK, FR, BL, NL, PL and most of the rest of Europe come to that, and I dare say probably better then the US and CAN aswell.

I would say they did win, well in the end at least. They are the Governing Country in Europe, they dictate the Euro, what other countries should or should not be doing and a bunch of other stuff, Only the UK stands up to them.

Maybe the War is still going on just at another level.

None the less, I wouldn`t want to live anywhere else at present. The country is Strong.

Not living there I don't really know but I'd think that since their involvement in the war, similar to Japan, they probably don't allocate the vast resources that we and other countries do. It's a big plus for countries that either don't do that or haven't. I'll need your feedback on this Angle.

It always amazes me that the Germans lost WW2 given the military technology that they had.

I heard once it was because they kept outrunning their supply trains. I do know they got their asses kicked in N. Africa By Montgomery's Division for that very reason. Tank ain't much good if you can't start it up and manuver.

That and our Army Air Corps saturation bombing their production plants. I remember bombed out plants when I was in high school there as late as the sixties.

Yeah, there's no doubt that that was the reason. It's really what everyone went after. Cut the supply line and you cut the head off of the snake, so to speak. It's probably the reason why we in the US were successful, far away from the fighting. That's good logistics.

As of 2013 the German Military consists of.
German Army 190 000 Active and 140 000 Reserves
German Navy 15 000 Active
German Airforce 33 000 Active

I know there was a big stink, when NATO sent them to Kosovo. Their first Combat tour and to boot Outside Germany since WW2. There was also a lot of unhappy teddies when they were sent to Afghan, which is also why they ended up away from the serious Combat.

But you are right, they dont send huge amounts of Brothers anywhere.
For Afghan there were only around 5000 sanctioned to go, allthough they have around 4 600 there at present, last I heard.

Last I read they were on to 60 KIA, Their highest total since WW2, which is a big issue in politics here as well at present.

I wish they would let that era pass, and move on, instead of draging it up every chance they get. We all know war is never a good thing nor is it plain and simple or easy. But it is a bad thing that needs to be done, so comparing everything to 70 years ago is not the way forward.

They tend to be more the Support and Training help than actual Combat forces.
Which is a Pity. I have been out and about with them quite a lot while I was in, and they are good. They just lack the experience. Which their Government will not give them.

I have a huge smile today because we found a house and are moving from this tiny bungalow with a postage stamp-sized garden that we're in now. The new house has a huge garden for the dogs, and best of all, it's in the middle of a neighborhood full of retired people! No more noisy f*cking neighbors! :D

I have bought myself a new dog. It's a purebred Border Collie.
I have two dogs here which I love, but neither of them are actually mine. So I have bought a puppy and I intend to take it to obedience training (For Me) not the dog. Then when it's old enough the people at 'AWARE" dogs will train him up for me.

I only have one photo as I don't pick him up for another two weeks.
