Ah, it's another joy from mother nature. It's official, I tired of this winter; it's been the coldest, snowiest, just plain crappiest ever.

Enjoy the fun pictures. I don't have any of me shoveling or using the snow thrower. kinda' hard to do that and take pictures too.

Yeah Man. We actually don't live all that far apart so I'm not surprised that you're getting much of the same.

I think the first day of spring I'm going to strip naked and run around my yard with bunches of flowers, that should give the neighbors a good scare. :ROFLMAO: Hopefully that will last for the year.

Lightweights! In 1968 Flagstaff police and rescue had to form a snowmobile brigade to take meds and supplies 50 miles to Winslow. In 72', I think, we had over 300 inches in one winter. Just ribbing you guys. Winters are much drier these days, way too dry. I'm not a "global change" type guy but it certainly has changed over the years.

It really doesn't bother me when we get snow. The Jeep's outfitted for it. I have a monster of a snow blower. Rest of the time, it's fire in the stove and a great shop to work in.

Don't want to start a 'great debate' here but I have a good memory and the weather patterns have changed a great deal just in my lifetime. What ever you choose to call it, something is happenin'.

That works for me as well

Sarg, I'm very happy being a lightweight, thank you. When I was still part of the productive society I felt as if it was a challenge to get dug out and be at work on time. Now, as one of those who don't - I sit back and watch those who do!

Its a vicious cycle! Then when we become one of those who can''t - then we watch those who can.

As soon as my honey decides to retire I'm outt'a here!

I initially thought 'group' face to face support wasn't for me; seems I may have been a bit hasty with my decision and put my defenses up.

Spent the last two hours chatting to guys who served 15-35 years before me, quite nice to listen and be listened to, in person.

Baby steps and force yourself to do little bits, it might just come good.

Edit: there's me being serious but 'happy', scroll up on my phone and see a big dick on a car. Haha.

Dan,

The cool thing about group, is that you get instant feedback from guys that have been through what you're going through and how they responded to it. I've learned so much from others on how to cope. The group I'm in now is not any where near as good as my first group, but I'm working hard on making this one better. As I have said before, there are a number in our group that I'm suspicious of.

Almost half are all members of the same VFW, they party, socialize, they do way too many things that are in-congruent with severe PTSD. I can't help but think they are there just to pad their retirement. They didn't see a shrink, or go to a group meeting until after they retired. O.K., let's talk of "delayed onset". You can't tell me that a man can have PTSD for forty years without showing some sort of manifestation of it.

Yes, we can "hide" many aspects of it, but there had to be some signs...heavy alcohol abuse, or drugs, arrest record, spotty job history, something to suggest something is wrong. These guys had steady careers, no arrest records and are active, productive members of their community.

Try to separate out the "questionable" members from those that are confirmed by a diagnosis and stick with them. Just like that damn Rubic's cube, there are ways to help yourself you might not have thought of and they have an answer for and you'll be helped immensely.

Don't ever give up.

Sarg
